Growing up in Lower Merion Township and receiving his B.S. in Horticulture from Temple University, Yis is very familiar with the area, its character, people, and plants. He has been in the green industry for a decade, working up and down the East Coast at various landscaping, gardening, and farming establishments. He has experience on urban farms and landscapes in New Orleans, LA; in residential and commercial landscapes in Wilmington, NC; and fine gardening/landscaping in Philadelphia, PA. Yis draws his expertise from a combination of field experience, management, and horticulture education at universities, arboreta, and botanical gardens. He looks toward a sustainable future of ecological design, native plant and pollinator gardens, meadow and gravel gardens, and in general, greater biodiversity and beauty in the suburban landscape.
